The event was primarily staged to provide a platform to increase emphasis on modern farming methods, and increasing awareness in farming to make Oman largely self-sufficient in the production of meat, poultry, vegetables etc. The event had specialized seminars on crop protection, poultry farming etc. to provide better insight into these subjects as well present new ideas.

The event Gulf AgroFish 2001 was held in collaboration with Food Expo 2001 at GIAFFEX 2001. This exhibition included the food sector to make the event bigger than before. There were various seminars conducted on Desert Plantation Systems, Horticulture, Aquaculture etc. Many aspects of agriculture, such as greenhouse technology, fertilizers and chemicals, horticulture, Agri-education products, floriculture, irrigation systems etc were on display.

The first of its kind exhibition and conference dedicated to health sector. The event provided a platform for leading pharmacies and medical institutions to interact and exchange new ideas. The conferences were targeted at Medics and professionals from the Medical field who got a forum to present their new ideas and have fruitful discussions related to the field.

Arab Telsat 2007, a specialised exhibition and conference on telecommunications and information technologies, was held for the first time in Oman on October 28-30, 2007, highlighting the sultanate’s progress in providing modern IT and telecommunications services to all its residents.

A unique event showcasing Syrian products and providing the exhibitors as well as the consumers with the best bargains and best buys from an array of colourful Syrian products from ladies handbags, make-up accessories to sophisticated furniture.

The Thai Exhibition provided a boost for the regional and national industry, by providing a shop window for goods catering to thousands of visitors to the Oman International Exhibition Centre. The event was a showcase for various products from Thailand from jewellery to Furniture, fashion to electronics, giftware to toys, Health and Beauty Products to Cosmetics, Perfumes and Fashion Clothing, Auto Spare parts to Gifts and Decoratives, Construction materials to Plastic products, Leather Accessories to Rice and rice products, Food & beverages, household and kitchenware products, Hospital services and Medical products to garments and thus providing a cross-section of the retail trade under one roof.

The “China Products Exhibition” had China businessmen providing their products for buying and selling the consumer goods they have. The cross range of products from Curtains, garments to electronics to shoes and other leather products were available under one roof. The market had goods galore and also had a variety of China products for local Omanis too see, enjoy and buy.

The Italian Exhibition for Building & Accessories held from January 14-16 brought over 50 reputed companies from Italy to explore the growing potential of the tourism, construction and real estate sectors in Oman.

Italian products are known the world over for its aesthetics, elegance and high quality. Industries in Oman had an opportunity to witness, at first-hand, the technological and qualitative developments in the field and take advantage of meeting different high-profile companies under one roof.
